Apologies in the lateness of this weekly message, I was out celebrating the end of the season with the L2.

Last weekend saw the L1 win a fantastic 7 nil against GCW securing a semi-final position in the Scottish Plate and another league win. We also saw the M1 and M3 inch closer to their league title bids. Unfortunately the L2 and L3 knocked out of their Cup/Plate adventures to worthy oppositions.

Congratulations to our new Committee members and Captains who were voted in at the AGM on Tuesday the 9th of April. There was a lot to discuss and quite a few points will be further interrogated over the summer break, in particular player recruitment and our youth section. The minutes will be circulated in due course. Our Committee and Captains for 2013-2014 are;

COMMITTEE 2013-2014

President: Gareth Tenner

Secretary: Lawrence Rentoul

The ESoD is near enough sold out, if you still haven’t bought your ticket please contact Katie ASAP. It will be a case of ‘snooze you lose’.

As I am moving to London next week this will sadly be my last weekly message to you all. The new Club Captain, Lizzie Scott, will take over the weekly emails for the remainder of the season. I will however see you all at the end of season dinner on the 27th of April, where I will be taking control of the microphone.

Having been a part of ESM FP HC for the past seven years, it has been an absolute pleasure in being a member, a player and your Club Captain. From being outed as a goalie in my first training session, in being cajoled to be fixtures secretary and to win the double last season, I have enjoyed every minute of my tenure with ESM FP HC. I have seen the club grow from strength to strength competitively, yet still managing to retain its inclusive and social core values. I have made fabulous friends here and I will truly miss you all.

I want to thank all the previous and current committee members for being the machine that keeps the club functioning, all previous and current captains for rallying the troops and getting bodies on the pitch each weekend come rain or shine. The umpires, thank you for giving up your time to allow our teams to play their matches. Good luck to everyone who are stepping up to the plate next season.

And lastly, thank you all the members, if it wasn’t for you there would not be a club at all. You are the glue that keeps the club together; you make the club what it is. ESM FP HC has been an awesome club to be a part of and I hope all existing and new members have the same amazing time with the club as I did.
