Erskine Stewart's Melville FP
Hockey Club

Thinking about joining the Club?  Find out more..

ESM is the fastest growing hockey club in Scotland. Based on the north/west side of
Edinburgh, we have a dual focus on competitive hockey and social connection.

We're looking for new players, both girls and guys, of all standards. Maybe you're a good
player who's looking for a good Club, or maybe you've never played since school or Uni and
want to get back into it? This is probably the Club for you.

We have four Mens teams (from National 3 down to East District 3). Our two Ladies teams
play at District level, although the 1st XI have aspirations of eventually going National
League. We also have a Mens Indoor team (National League during the winter shutdown),
and a Mens Veterans side (over 35's).

Training is on Wednesday evenings (8-10pm at Mary Erskine School, our home astroturf
pitch), where we have two coaches (Ladies/Mens). We also have informal fitness sessions,
usually on Tuesday evenings. Matches are on Saturdays (from September to May), with the
odd Cup match on Sundays. The Club also organises tours each year during the off season.

Our social structure is very important to us, and our magnificent Clubhouse (Ferry Road) is
often where it happens after matches. Throughout the season we have three official dinners
(only one formal!), but there are also many informal gatherings after matches etc.

As for cost. Well there's no match fees, so the only outlay you have is £170 for the season (if
paid before end of Oct). Students etc pay £90 (again, by the end of Oct).

So, if you fancy trying us out, email us (
info@esmhc.com). And feel free to come along to
training for a couple of sessions to see if it's for you (no charge!). We'd love to see you there,
I've no doubt you'll be made most welcome.

Oh, and if you decide you'd like to join, we need you to fill out the '
Application to Join' form so
we can register and insure you officially etc. Thanks,
